Team and Leadership Development for Nurses
Evelina London Children’s Hospital
Client: Evelina London Children’s Hospital
Audience: Paediatric intensive care nursing teams, in-charge Band 6 nurses and participants on Evelina’s leadership programmes
Format: Bespoke team workshops and away days, leadership sessions and regular speaking on leadership programmes
My role: Design, facilitation and speaking
The Context
Everyone knows the extraordinary energy nurses bring to their work. In the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Evelina London, two lead educators wanted to strengthen collaboration and create a more dynamic way of working. With such large teams, it wasn’t always possible for staff to connect, share best practice or build a shared sense of purpose.
What I Delivered
Team workshops for PICU nurses — I designed and delivered a bespoke series of workshops for six nursing groups, each holding regular away days. The focus was on team connection, resilience and motivation, helping nurses support each other and thrive whatever the circumstances.
Leadership for in-charge Band 6 nurses — a session for the nurses who lead shifts, supporting them in the day-to-day leadership of their teams.
Regular speaker — I speak regularly on Evelina’s leadership programmes.
The Impact
Over the months that followed the PICU workshops, there was a clear shift in how teams communicated and worked together, leading to stronger collaboration and renewed energy across the unit.
“Thanks so much for delivering the session to our band 6 nurses. The overall feedback from them is that they really enjoyed the session and found it very useful.”
— Evelina London Children’s Hospital
“Magnificent as always! Thank you so much for working with our team, the difference that you make to their morale and motivation is exceptional.”
— Laura Foxler, Paediatric Clinical Medical Educator, Evelina London
