Susie took to the stage with Physician Heal Thyself, focussing on burnout, overwork and why clinician and healthcare professional wellbeing is essential for empathy and better patient outcomes.

This motivating and engaging talk was designed to stimpulate discussion and curiosity around physician health and self-compassion.

This is a two day event focussed on ‘Ethics, Empowerment and Excellence - Professionalism in Medical Education’

The topic areas that I am sharing are connected to AI and Leadership which is an on-going area of interest and separately I have been invited to share knowledge and insights on coaching and mentoring.

This interactive workshop supports researchers developing therapies, products and services towards clinical impact. Participants will explore how common challenges in translational research such as publication rejections, funding delays, regulatory complexity, and clinical trial setbacks can be reframed as sources of learning, adaptability, and professional growth.

Facilitation for Executive Directors and Senior Leaders is an area that I have tremendous expertise and passion for. Being able to create the space for a group to connect, share best practice and to strive to improve patient safety, quality and care is a joy for me to do. This is for a NHS Trust who is innovative with their thinking and curious in the way they create the conditions for leadership throughout their organisation.

These speaker events have been commissioned by North East and Yorkshire Leadership Academy.

Each year, Susie has an opportunity to share insights and knowledge connected to happiness in the workplace, menopause and careers and courageous communication.

These take place virtually and the aim is to support optometrists, practice manager and the wider healthcare team with their professional and personal development.

Susie has an active interest in the value that women bring to the workplace after having a career break. In addition to this the focus in these podcasts has been inspiring motivation and instilling confidence as women navigate the complexity of their medical careers.
